The Queens Unsung Heroes Award for Meru

MERU’s Industrial student placement scheme

Each academic year MERU provides two undergraduate placements for students studying subjects such as product design and engineering, industrial design and medical engineering. Our scheme is highly popular with students, not least because of the high proportion of involvement and practical experience it offers.

In fact MERU recently won the Best Work Experience Award (charitable sector) from the National Council for Work Experience.

Successful candidates work as an integral part of the MERU team, working on site at MERU in Epsom.

As part of our team you can expect to be included as a member of staff, attending team briefings, project meetings, contributing your ideas at assessment, leading your own design projects, drawing up, prototyping, manufacturing, testing, delivering, risk assessing and evaluating the products you generate.

Successful applicants receive a bursary of £5000 for the placement year, paid in monthly instalments, plus travel and lunch expenses.

For more information on the scheme please Click here to contact us.

MERU also offers four one-week placements for students aged 16-18 each summer.  Please Click here to contact us for more information
